The Golden Rules
🚪 Front On, Back Off
Always board through the Front Door and pay immediately. Exit through the Rear Door.
📱 Scan to Pay
Use the same Alipay Transport Code as the metro. Select "Bus" tab in the app. Cash is accepted but requires exact change (usually ¥2).
How to Navigate

Use Amap (Gaudu) or Apple Maps
Google Maps is often outdated. Apple Maps works well in China. Amap is best if you can read some Chinese.

Listen for Announcements
Stops are announced in Mandarin and often English. Watch the LED screen at the front of the bus.

Press the Button to Stop
Unlike some countries, buses stop at every designated stop unless it's an express line, but pressing the button/bell near the door signals you want to get off.
