Regular Taxis
By the Meter ("Da Biao")
Always insist on using the meter. Say "Dว biวo" (ๆ่กจ). If they refuse and ask for a flat rate, get out and find another.
Show Address in Chinese
Most drivers do not speak English. Have your hotel card or destination name written in large Chinese characters on your phone.
Receipts (Fapiao)
Always take the printed receipt. It has the taxi number and company phone number in case you leave something behind.
Availability
Available at airports, stations, and hotels. Hard to hail on street during rush hour or rain โ use DiDi instead.
